Arqly / Work / Miami electrical contractor
Case · Electrical contractor, Miami, FLRemote VDC department for a Miami electrical contractor.
Since 2024, our team in Colombia (UTC−5) has modeled, coordinated and drawn the electrical scope of the contractor's projects, inside their ACC and Procore, under NEC. Five projects were active in August 2026, including a university residence hall.
The problem
General contractors asked for coordinated electrical models and installation drawings on several projects at once. Hiring and training in-house detailers takes time. The contractor needed a team that could start quickly, work in their tools and stay on the projects.
Scope
- Electrical model in Revit: conduit, cable tray, feeders, panels and electrical rooms.
- Clash detection against the other trades in Navisworks; Coordination Issues logged and closed in ACC and Procore.
- Installation drawings: RCPs, slab and in-slab layouts, floor boxes, sleeves and electrical rooms, dimensioned from control lines.
- Typical unit drawings for a university residence hall: circuits, device dimensions and fire alarm.
How we work with them
- Kick-off per project: drawings, template, GC requirements and deadlines.
- Weekly cycle: model, coordinate, log issues, fix.
- Before each submittal: automated pyRevit checks, then the installation checklist signed by the modeler, then the founder's review.
- The same team stays on each project from the first model to the last revision.
Results
- Continuous work since 2024 with the same team.
- Five projects active at the same time in August 2026.
