Arqly / FAQ
FAQQuestions contractors ask us.
Short answers about working with our electrical BIM team in Colombia (UTC−5). If yours is not here, write to [email protected].
What hours do you work?
Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 18:00 Colombia time (UTC−5, no daylight saving). That is the same as Miami in winter and one hour behind in summer. We reply the same business day.
Do you work in English?
Yes. Calls, email, reports and sheets in English. Many of us also speak Spanish with your field crews.
Who signs the drawings?
Your engineer of record. We model, coordinate and draft under their direction. We do not design, calculate or seal. Arqly is not a licensed engineering or architecture firm in the United States.
What don't you do?
We don't model mechanical, plumbing or structure: we coordinate against those trades' models. We don't do electrical design or calculations (fault current, voltage drop, arc flash). We don't scan on site. In Scan to BIM we only model MEP and electrical systems.
Which codes and standards do you work to?
NEC on US projects, including working clearances (NEC 110.26), plus your company standards and your GC's BIM execution plan. REBT on Spanish projects. On UK Scan to BIM work we use ISO 19650 naming and CDE workflows; we are not certified to ISO 19650.
Which software do you use?
Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Procore, pyRevit for our in-house checks, and ReCap and CloudCompare for point clouds. We work inside your ACC or Procore, with your templates.
How many review rounds are included?
Two review rounds per delivery. Design changes from the engineer of record or the GC are quoted before we start them.
How do you quote?
A dedicated seat is a fixed monthly fee. A package is a fixed price with a not-to-exceed cap. Scan to BIM is quoted by estimated hours, not by square foot, because complexity varies a lot between buildings of the same size. You get an indicative quote within two business days of sending drawings, models or screenshots of the cloud.
How and when do we pay?
Dedicated seat: invoiced at the start of each month. Fixed package: 50% at kick-off, 50% on delivery. In USD by bank transfer. We invoice from Colombia as an export of services.
What contract do we sign?
A short services contract in English with the scope, dates, deliverables, review rounds, price and an NDA. A quote accepted by email is also a valid agreement.
How do you protect our files?
We sign an NDA before we receive any file, work inside your ACC or Procore, and return or delete your files when the project ends. We do not hold ISO 27001 or SOC 2 certification. More on security.
What do you need from us to start?
Current electrical drawings, the other trades' models (or access to your CDE), your Revit template and standards, the GC's BIM execution plan if there is one, and the deadline. For the paid pilot, one electrical room is enough.
Can we try you before committing?
Yes. The paid pilot is one electrical room, fixed scope, USD 1,500 fixed, about two weeks, with an acceptance checklist. If it doesn't pass, we fix it at no cost until it does.
